I recently had an issue with a flashed smart power point. For some reason the device was broadcasting the “vtrust-recovery” SSID. I tried to flash it a couple of times but I couldn’t get it to work.
I installed nmap and decided to run a scan. I connected my laptop to the vtrust-recovery SSID and ran an nmap scan. I found my device and managed to go to its IP address in my browser! Phew, so I can connect to it. It’s not bricked after all.
Then it dawned on me! What if I try and undo the last flash and get out of vtrust-recovery?
So here are the steps to go back to original firmware and get your device flashed again, correctly!
UNDO A TUYA-CONVERT FLASH ON A DEVICE THAT IS STUCK IN VTRUST-RECOVERY
- Connect to the vtrust-recovery SSID using your laptop (mine is a mac in this case)
- Open up Terminal
- Type in the following and press ENTER

- Your device will undo the last flash and reboot
- Retry flashing your device and it should come back to life!
